What is the best facial moisturizer to use under makeup for women over 50?

I'm looking for a moisturizer that works well for liquid foundation. I'm not looking drug store types, and I'm ready to invest in top skin care products at this time. Can anyone suggest particular line they tried which produced good results? Better yet, what product can I ask if I see a dermatologist about take care of your skin?
